Addressing Vandalism and Graffiti

M&O continues to wrestle with a consistent high level of intentional destruction throughout the District. While reduced by 9.2% over the previous fiscal year, M&O still responded to 1,875 vandalism and graffiti calls at a cost of $562,788, not including property loss, during the 2009-10 fiscal year. A decrease in vandalism is a good thing, but it continues to be a major challenge for M&O as these are costs taken directly out of the classroom for repairs.
