APS Employees, Community Can Report Abuse to ‘Ethical Advocate’

July 6, 2010

APS employees, parents and community members can anonymously report tips of fraud, waste or abuse to Ethical Advocate, the district’s new vendor for handling such complaints. Tips can be reported online at http://aps.ethicaladvocate.com or may be called in at 1-877-848-2770.

The phone line and website are available 24 hours a day and users are encouraged to report instances of:

  • Fraud, waste, and abuse
  • Harassment
  • Discrimination
  • Safety issues
  • Substance abuse
  • Other questionable practices

Timeliness and details are important in getting issues resolved.  For personnel issues, users are encouraged to try and resolve them through communication with their supervisors and through the appropriate administrative lines before accessing the website or telephone to the Ethical Advocate hotline.

“We chose Ethical Advocate because it provides security and anonymity for those filing reports and it provides a robust case management and analytics system that gives our team the necessary tools to examine the full spectrum of our risk and governance exposures,” said Peg Koshmider, director of APS Internal Audit, which administers the program for the district.
