Highland High School Fall Pow Wow

The Annual Highland High School Fall Pow Wow was recently held with great success.  It took a great deal of logistical and economic planning from the Highland High School’s Native American Leadership Council to make sure everything went without a glitch.  The Leadership Council collaborated and completed the organization of the native drum groups, dancers and other participants that made the event successful.  Student responsibilities also included securing facilities months in advance, contacting and scheduling security and custodial staff for the event.  This year the head lady dancer was A’lilee Bah Church from Albuquerque High, and the head man dancer was Wyatt Julian from the Native American Community Academy.  This event was a great example of school and community working together. The Pow Wow concluded with the crowning of the new Chief and Miss Native Highland.
