AIMS: Educator Development (formerly PD Planner)
The APS Instructional Management System includes a module named Educator Development. This serves as a comprehensive professional development resource center. Employees can search for courses, view a district Professional Development Catalog and keep track of completed trainings.
APS Required Trainings
Trainings for the 2012-2013 school year will be available August 6, 2012. The course must be completed by November 1st or 40 working days after the start date for new employees.
APS employees must follow the standards outlined in Federal Laws, State Laws, Board Policies, and Administrative Procedural Directives. This online course required for all employees contains a number of trainings. You must complete the trainings required for the type of work you do. The course will be available to you after you officially start working. The course shall be completed annually.

This online resource for APS Teachers and Staff is provided by the APS Human Resources and Technology Departments. There are dozens of courses available to you that will improve your skills and productivity. From Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint training to Assertiveness and Leadership courses, you’ll find many topics that will help you in the classroom and at home. APS OnlineExpert is easy to use and features video of recognized experts that make learning fun and effective.
Reserving a Computer Lab
Four computer labs are available for employee training at the Montgomery Complex. To reserve a computer lab:

- Complete a Request Form
- Email request form to training@aps.edu
Tuition Reimbursement
APS promotes continued learning and development of it’s employees by offering tuition reimbursement for appropriate coursework.
