Employee Handbook

Revised May 2011

Welcome to the Albuquerque Public SchoolsEmployee Handbook

Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) welcomes you as a new employee. You will be contributing to and sharing in the District’s efforts to provide the highest standards in instruction, academic achievement and an ongoing reputation for quality. I value everyone employed by APS. Every employee plays an important role in the overall development of a child and I appreciate your interest and dedication to APS.

This handbook outlines important information about work place policies, personnel policies, compensation, and benefits. If an employee is covered by a collective bargaining agreement they will need to reference their contract’s terms and conditions of employment. Please read your handbook carefully and keep it for future reference. I want to personally welcome you and wish you a long and successful career with APS.

Sincerely,
Winston Brooks
Superintendent
