Albuquerque Public Schools has been awarded a 4-year grant from the Federal Safe Schools / Healthy Students Initiative to reduce youth violence and substance abuse, increase mental health services, and create a safe environment for children in Albuquerque schools.

The Safe Schools / Healthy Students site provides information ranging from bullying and suicide prevention, to programs and activities for youth, as well as ongoing news and information about how the grant is impacting the community with positive results.

The site also has information on the Positive Behavioral Support program.

School Wide Positive Behavioral Support (SWPBS): Training and coaching will be provided to 32 schools to improve school climate and academic outcomes.
