What is Medicaid?

Medicaid is a partnership between each state and the federal government to provide low cost or no cost medical care to those who need it most.

Eligibility for all Medicaid programs is based on citizenship, residency, income and other factors (such as resource levels, medical factors and sometimes, an individual's current health insurance coverage status).

Income eligibility for all Medicaid programs is based on a percentage of federal poverty level.
