Home Hospital is a short-term, interim service designed to keep regular education students connected to their coursework when they are unable to attend a regular school campus due to acute medical conditions.
The Home Hospital teacher picks up/delivers assignments from the classroom teacher(s) and provides a limited amount of instruction (up to five hours weekly) in the student’s home or at the hospital.
"4% of U.S. children do not have a usual place of health care and 5% had unmet dental needs because their families could not afford dental health care."
In addition to serving students who are dually enrolled in their home school and Home Hospital, teachers from the Home Hospital unit also provide instruction for students in identified residential treatment facilities.
