School Breakfast and Lunch Programs
Menus are created and analyzed by a trained nutritionist. Meals provide less than 30% of their calories from fat, 10% or less from saturated fat and increased fiber, meeting the standards of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Breakfast provides 1/4, and lunch 1/3, of the daily calorie needs and nutrient requirements for protein, iron, calcium, vitamin A and C. The meals are analyzed over a one week period to ensure that they meet these federal guidelines.
