March 4th, 2017

The ninth annual APS Elementary Honor Choir Festival will be on Saturday, March 4, at Eldorado High School. There will be a fourth grade and a fifth grade honor choir made up of students nominated by their music teachers.

The conductor for the fifth grade honor choir is Paul Hallsted of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and the conductor of the fourth grade honor choir is Dr. Robin Giebelhausen, music education professor at the University of New Mexico.

The APS Elementary music teachers will serve as the accompanist for the students. The concert repertoire will consist of folk songs from various countries, and American pop classics such as Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder.

The choirs will rehearse during the morning and early afternoon and present a final concert to conclude the festival. The fourth Grade Honor Choir concert is at 2:45 p.m. and the Fifth Grade Honor Choir is at 4 p.m. Both concerts will take place at the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Eldorado High School.
