Valley High School is breaking ground on a $5 million project highlighted by a new building for its career pathways program for engineering, construction and manufacturing. The project also includes a new fine arts building and renovation of facilities to accommodate school security. The building was designed by NCA Architects and will be built by Shumate Constructors, Inc. Construction funding comes from the 2006 school bond/mill levy election.

This is the first phase of an overall rebuilding project at Valley, most of whose facilities are more than 45 years old. There is another $8.1 million allocated for classroom renovation and construction, new soccer field and additional parking as part of the Feb. 2 school improvements election.
