Public and charter school students in New Mexico take a lot of tests during their school years. Testing requirements have changed in recent years which, understandably, have led to some confusion. To help provide clarification, Albuquerque Public Schools Superintendent Winston Brooks and the Board of Education are hosting town hall meetings to help explain what tests students take, when they take them, how to prepare for them and how to evaluate their results. These include the New Mexico Standards Based Assessment (SBA) as well as End of Course exams that are now required for students in kindergarten through 12th grade and to earn a high school diploma.
