The New Mexico Black History Organizing Committee is sponsoring a STEM Festival and Work It Out Day from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Highland High. The event is free and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Keynote speakers are Dr. Ruby Lathan and Dr. Phyllis Hubbard.

The event is a hands-on interactive day of exhibits showcasing science, technology, engineering, math and health.

You'll learn the science behind making ice cream, how to create computer chips out of chocolate chip cookies and the connection between physical health and mental health.

Wear comfy clothes and closed-toe shoes as this event will have your whole body moving.
