Parent Training on Special Education Processes

The intent of this meeting is for parents to gain a basic understanding of the Special Education process including steps outlined in IDEA, role of APS in carrying out the steps and family involvement within each step

The Special Education Department is hosting a training especially for parents.  It will offer a basic overview of the Special Education process.

Purpose

The intended outcome of this meeting is for parents to gain a basic understanding of the Special Education process including:

  • Steps outlined in IDEA
  • Role of APS in carrying out the steps
  • Family involvement within each step

Information will be presented by Directors and Instructional Managers of the APS Special Education Department. Space is limited, so please click on the link below if you are interested in attending and follow the instructions for registration. A light breakfast will be provided. An additional training session will be held on May 16, 2012, from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Registration forms for the May session will be available on April 20, 2012.  We look forward to seeing you!
