KANW 89.1 FM and the Albuquerque Journal will host a forum at 7 p.m., June 15 to discuss an epidemic in opioid-related deaths in New Mexico.  Albuquerque Public Schools Prevention/Intervention Counseling Manager Susan McKee will participate in the forum along with U.S. Attorney Damon Martinez and UNM Health Sciences Center Chancellor Dr. Paul Roth.

The forum will be broadcast live from 7 to 9 p.m. on KANW 89.1 FM, which is owned and operated by Albuquerque Public Schools.

The purpose of the forum is to educate New Mexicans about the dangers of opioids and help prevent them from becoming part of the epidemic.  Other participants include the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the UNM School of Pharmacy, Generation RX, the New Mexico Poison Center, Bernalillo County’s MATS program, and the UNM School of Medicine.
