2016 Conference Highlights

Friday Evening, February 19 - A choice of two engaging sessions! 

  • Experience Dyslexia - A Learning Disabilities Simulation (open to public at no cost)
  • William Van Cleave is back!- "Morphology Matters: Using Roots and Affixes to Build Vocabulary and Advanced Decoding" (Attendees must register for Saturday conference to attend this Friday evening session.)

Earn 2.5 CEUs for attending either session on Friday night.

Saturday, February 20 All-day conference for Educators and Parents

Our Keynote Presentation

Dr. Margie Gillis, will address the "missing link" in education.

IDA Knowledge and Practice Standards: What Teachers Must Know and Be Able to Do to Teach High Quality Literacy Standards


Breakout Sessions


For Teachers (including parents, homeschoolers, tutors): Three sessions on writing - from handwriting to informative text - with William Van Cleave

For New Attendees: Gillis on "It's never too late," Henderson on "What do we teach? and The May Center on "Being an Ally"

For Techies: Three iPad sessions by Dr. Elaine Cheesman that support Multisensory Language Education and Orton-Gillingham principles

Earn 6 CEUs for attending Saturday's full conference.

ALL-DAY Students with Dyslexia Conference!
Sessions designed for students, middle school through college.

This year's focus will be on self-advocacy, with facilitators from The May Center
(Santa Fe) and Katrina R. Gallegos, SWIDA Board Member.

Registration fees: Early Bird ( ends February 6)  


Early Bird IDA Member $150 

Early Bird Non-Member $175.  

Late Birds must pay an additional $25.
