APS Hall of Honor at the Gold Bar Gala

The Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation, with the support of the district, will debut the APS Hall of Honor in the spring of 2017 – an annual recognition of some of the best educators to grace our classrooms, playing fields and hallways. Up to four awardees will be recognized at a new event – the Gold Bar Gala -- on April 21, 2017 at Sandia Resort.

Selfless Seniors at the Gold Bar Gala

The best kids in Albuquerque live next door, participate in school activities and volunteer to help their classmates, parents, family members and community. We'll be looking for some of our best kids in the community -- Selfless Seniors -- in the fall of 2016. The 2017 Selfless Seniors will be recognized at the Gold Bar Gala.

Best of Class at the Gold Bar Gala

Each year, the APS Foundation awards grants to over a hundred educators for their schoolwide initiatives, classroom projects and extracurricular activities. This year, the Foundation will recognize some of the most innovative, promising and successful projects at the Gold Bar Gala.

Outstanding Corporate Partners at the Gold Bar Gala

At the Gold Bar Gala, the APS Education Foundation will honor outstanding corporate partners in education for their philanthropy and visionary partnership.

Pepsi Teacher of the Month

Pepsi, in partnership with the APS Education Foundation, recognizes an APS teacher each month for his or her outstanding contribution to the classroom, school, and community. In a special ceremony at the teacher's school, the Teacher of the Month is surprised with a video tribute, $100 check from Pepsi and gift card from Flying Star.

Student of the Week

The APS Student of the Week is featured in the Albuquerque Journal on Mondays as well as on APS website and our social media venues. Schools are selected at random to choose a student of the week. The task falls to the principal who often seeks staff nominations.
