Operation School Bell Offers Support to APS Families

Operation School Bell started in 1999 as a Join-a-School partnership serving about 90 students. The signature program of the Assistance League of Albuquerque has expanded to serve 34 standardized-dress schools and other schools and departments. Thanks to the support of retail partners Fallas Paredes and Payless Shoes, the program has provided support for almost 5,000 students this school year alone.

PLAY BALL! ABQ Isotopes Partner with Schools

Schools can schedule a visit by Orbit, the Isotopes Mascot, or Isotopes players on certain days. The visits can support literacy, staying in school, the importance of reading and education in general, or other appropriate topics. Isotopes staff are also available for career fairs.

Assistance League Turns the Big 5-0

The Assistance League of Albuquerque has been a wonderful partner to APS for over 12 years. The signature program, Operation School Bell, has benefited thousands of students and their families since 1999. Those contributions and more were celebrated on March 21; speakers lauding the group's accomplishments included Mayor R.J. Berry and APS Communications Executive Director Monica Armenta.
