Tuxes for Teachers Raises $2,320 for APS Foundation

Suits Unlimited donates a portion of each prom tuxedo rented by APS students to the Seeds of Learning grant program.

Tuxes 4 Teachers has made the Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation look good once again.

Suits Unlimited has announced it will donate $2,320 to the Foundation’s Seeds of Learning grant program through the Tuxes 4 Teachers program.

For the fourth straight year, Suits Unlimited, located at 5406 Menaul NE, donated a portion of its proceeds from every tuxedo rental during APS prom season to the Foundation. The Foundation puts that money into Seeds of Learning, a mini-grant program that for years has helped teachers throughout the district.

In addition, Suits Unlimited is donating $1,500 to Valley High School, which had the most student rent tuxes for the second consecutive year. Valley’s activities director is Patricia Rivera.

“The Garcia family and all the folks at Suits Unlimited are terrific partners,” said Foundation Executive Director Phill Casaus. “They are APS graduates and believe in our students. The fact that they’d give back to the district says a lot about their commitment to education, and we’re very grateful.”
