Student of the Week: Riley Burns

Congratulations to Riley Burns, 3rd grader at Dennis Chavez Elementary School, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation.

From Riley's teacher:

"I am fortunate to have such an amazing student in my class. Riley is so caring and loving to her classmates. She is a responsible student, always working hard and giving me her personal best. Riley has a special needs brother at our school and the first time I saw her with him I knew I had a very special girl in my class. Her arms went around him in such protectiveness. It was a beautiful sight to see."

Favorite subject:

Riley’s favorite subject is science. She loves to study the human body and how it works.

Student’s hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school:

Riley loves to read books about Greek mythology. She can name all the Greek myths and stories how the gods were named. Riley loves to swim and is in a cheer club.
