Student of the Week: Reeze Salsbury

Congratulations to Reeze Salsbury, a 1st grader at A. Montoya Elementary, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation.

About Reeze:

Mrs. Dawson, his teacher, says “Reeze is a fantastic student. He is so super kind and hard working. He always gives 100% and is ALWAYS the first kid to assist a peer in need (whether academic or emotional). He pays constant attention to the feelings of others and will often tell me that a student is upset and what he thinks would make him or anyone else feel better. (He is usually right too!) He is incredibly committed to learning and really pushes himself. If we are low on supplies, he tells his mother, who will then run out and buy whatever it is we need. He comes from a very involved family (2 older siblings at A. Montoya) and encourages all kids to follow the rules because it is the right thing to do.”

What’s this student’s favorite subject?

Reeze likes reading because he wants to be a better reader. His favorite book is Captain America.

What are this student’s hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school?

Reeze likes to paint a lot at his house. He likes to paint flowers, hummingbirds, and trees. He likes to write in his journal about his thoughts and stories.
