A portion of sales at U-Swirl Frozen Yogurt's two Albuquerque locations will go to support the APS Education Foundation on April 25-26.
Madison MS Busy with Project-Based Learning Projects That Include Parents and Community
Students have had a busy spring planning and implementing a variety of projects and programs bringing real world application to academic learning. Eighth Grade Social Studies students have been researching and sewing freedom quilts, 7th and 8th graders worked on committees for the Neverland Café, and art students cast clay totems and worked on a mosaic project.

Congratulations to Michelle Mendieta, a 5th grader at Hodgin Elementary School, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation.

About Michelle:

Michelle is an energetic, kind, and hardworking student who loves school. She takes pride in giving her best in all she does, and she is always available to help a friend in need. Her positive attitude toward learning makes her an excellent model for other students to follow.

Favorite subject:

Michelle’s favorite subject is math because she finds it easy and likes playing with numbers and shapes.

Hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school:

In school Michelle likes doing science experiments with her class, playing basketball and tag, and talking with her friends. Out of school, Michelle enjoys reading, studying, babysitting, spending time with her sister, and having sleepovers with her friends.
