Student of the Week: Matthew Andrew

Congratulations to Matthew Andrew, a junior at Volcano Vista High School, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation.

September 24, 2013

Tell us a little about your school experience.

At Volcano Vista I have met some great teachers and friends. My studies are important to me, so I work hard to keep my grades high. I have also had the opportunity to be involved in several organizations and participate on the baseball, cross country and track teams. I particularly enjoy being an editor on the yearbook staff because it allows me to see all the great things going on at my school.

What’s your favorite course?

AP Chemistry is my favorite class this year. I like chemistry and it is fun to go more in depth with it.

What are your plans for the future?

After graduation, I plan to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After that, I am hoping to go to pharmacy school.
