Student of the Week: Lily Zamora

Congratulations to Lily Zamora, a 5th grader at Cochiti Elementary School, for being named the Student of the Week (March 12) by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation.

About Lily:

According to Lily’s teacher, Lily is a conscientious student. She cares about her work and does well academically. Lily is a caring person who is always on the lookout for opportunities to help others. She truly personifies good citizenship. The school’s secretary explains that Lily is kind, smart and beautiful. She has a wonderful sense of humor and is not afraid to be herself. Lily has a hug for the office staff every morning.

Favorite subject:

Her favorite subject is math. Lily states that she loves that moment when she finally gets it. “It’s the a-ha moment.”

Hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school:

She loves all types of sports; you name it and she plays it. She also is in a dance group that won a state championship. Lily is in the Cochiti Journalism Club and dances with the Courageous 6 dance group.
