Student of the Week: Kaycee Hightower

12th grader at Cibola HS

Congratulations to Kaycee Hightower , a twelfth grader at Cibola HS, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation!

Tell us a little about your school experience:
My high school experience has been nothing short of pleasurable. Whether it be in learning something new everyday, or meeting someone new everyday, high school has taught me lessons that I will carry on with me throughout my entire life. The highlight of my high school experience so far, is being given the honor of being the Student Body President of Cibola High School. It has humbled me, and it has been such a rewarding experience for me, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of my senior year has in store for me.

What’s your favorite course?
My favorite course is my piano class because it has given me a new found appreciation for music and it has helped me realize that there is much more to learn in life than just math and science. It has taught me that everyone expresses themselves in different ways and I have learned more about music, and about life in that class than I ever thought possible.

What are your plans for the future?
All I can say right now is that after high school, I plan on going to college and getting a master’s degree. I am still not sure what I would like to be when I grow up, but I am excited for anything and everything that the future holds, and I am sure that no matter what happens, and no matter what I become the experiences I will have will be nothing short of rewarding.
