Student of the Week Jovanni Orozco

8th grader at Washington Middle School

What Jovanni has to say about his school experience: "I like my school because we have the opportunity to learn new things everyday. My teachers always encourage me to do my best. Since 6th grade, my teachers have always shown me that they care about me. They make sure to teach me in ways that I understand so I can be the best student I can be. Since 6th grade, I have always made the honor roll and follow the three personal standards of behavior at Washington Middle School: Show Respect, Solve Problems and Make Good Decisions. I think it is important to respect my teachers and other students by; helping them, speaking politely, and helping keep our school safe. I like to help others. I think it is important to set a positive example for others and look out for the younger kids."

Favorite subject: "My favorite subject is science because we get to explore a lot of neat things and do projects."

Hobbies and activities: "I enjoy playing soccer. I like to go hiking in Jemez with my family. I enjoy being outside and being active."
