Student of the Week Jonah Reyes Beegly

4th Grader at North Star Elementary

Jonah Reyes Beegly

Nusenda Credit Union, in partnership with the APS Education Foundation, highlights an APS student each week.

What Jonah’s teacher says about him: Jonah is not just a good student. Jonah is an innovator and a collaborator. He is unafraid to learn from failure, to take risks, and to turn “can’t” into “can do”. He exemplifies so many qualities that we as adults wish we possessed and carries himself with confidence, humility, and empathy. Jonah continually thinks outside the box and rises to any challenge presented to him. He is not only working with his homeroom teacher, Steven Lamb, at North Star Elementary, but with another teacher, Rachel Thomas, at Mountain View Elementary. Even though these schools are separated by eighteen miles, Jonah has the ability to effectively communicate to work with peers from anywhere in the city.

Favorite subject: Jonah’s favorite subject in school is science.

Hobbies and activities: Jonah plays tennis, plays 3 instruments—guitar, piano and saxophone – and enjoys drawing quite a bit.
