Student of the Week: Ian Sanchez

Fifth grade at North Star Elementary School.

Congratulations to Ian Sanchez, a fourth grader at North Star ES, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation!

From his teacher, Ms. Sutphin: Ian is a bright, kind, hard-working student.  He is a great athlete and loves sports but he knows his academics must come first.  Ian always has a smile on his face and is a friend to all.

He has a strong sense of right and wrong, and is always willing to stick up for others.  He has high expectations of himself both academically and athletically and is continuously striving to better himself. He has a great sense of humor and is a joy to be around. We are very proud of Ian.

From his principal, Stephanie Fascitelli:  Ian is a student with a great personality, is an enthusiastic learner and sets a great example by making good choices and being a super role model to other students.  Not only is he a great student academically but Ian was also recently awarded the All Metro Football NMYAFL Student Athlete Award for his excellent character and sportsmanship on the field.  So whether it is in the classroom or on the field, Ian is a person that makes his teachers, coaches and parents very proud!
