Student of the Week Deion D’Arco

Senior at Albuquerque High School

Nusenda Credit Union, in partnership with the APS Education Foundation, highlights an APS student each week.

Deion’s school experience: My experience at AHS has been great as I have been given the opportunity to participate in sports and clubs while also taking challenging classes with some of the best teachers in the state of New Mexico. Transferring to Bulldog City was one of the best decisions I have made, as I have met amazing people and feel very prepared for college and life going forward.

Favorite course: While I gained a lot from many of my classes, my most enjoyable course was Computer Graphics. I took the course for three years with Ms. Lisa Gillett and it allowed me to showcase my imagination and creativity, while also incorporating our school’s technology.

Plans for the future: I am planning to attend the University of New Mexico with a substantial scholarship and am hoping to major in a field that will provide both a rewarding and satisfying career.
