Student of the Week: Darius Fuller

Congratulations to Darius Fuller, a 5th grader at Chelwood Elementary School, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation.

About Darius:

Darius has been a student mediator for two years. He is responsible and cares about his school community. He is always respectful to adults and his peers. He always wants to do better – he really challenges himself. He asks, “What do I have to do to improve?”

Favorite subject:

Darius loves social studies. “I really connect with that. I know a lot about history especially the Civil War and African American History.”

Hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school:

Hobbies at school: writing and mediators. “My teacher really likes my writing. Mediation is a responsibility I need in life to talk to people, communicate and help solve problems, even at home.”

At home: video games but not war games. “I do the ones that are about math and reading.”
