Student of the Week: Danielle Genero

Congratulations to Danielle Genero, a 5th grader at Adobe Acres Elementary, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation.

About Danielle:

Danielle is a vivacious, curious, creative, intelligent young person with a witty sense of humor. She achieves at the advanced levels in each of subject within the gifted setting. Danielle sets high personal goals and she works arduously to achieve them. She is a talented writer and artist and has received several awards for her artwork. Danielle has also been recognized through the years at Adobe Acres for her outstanding science fair projects. Recently, Danielle displayed remarkable emergency skills and a caring heart when she assisted a younger student who had become ill on a field trip.

As a leader, Danielle has demonstrated her leadership skills/abilities within our class as its vice president. She was instrumental in organizing the "Care and Share Project," which collected food items for our needy families during the holidays. In addition to her leadership role within our classroom, Danielle is the Adobe Acres ES student counsel president. This summer, Danielle will be participating in a Junior Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.

Favorite subject:

While Danielle enjoys all facets and areas of learning, gifted language arts, which includes reading and written language, is her favorite subject.

Hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school:

Danielle enjoys art, technology, writing and reading books.
