Student of the Week: Asia Gutierrez

5th Grade at Lew Wallace Elementary School

Congratulations to Asia Gutierrez, a fifth grader at Lew Wallace ES, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation!

What can a parent or teacher say about this student?
     Ms. Talley, her teacher: “Asia has a very clever sense of humor. She is very helpful. She is a responsible student who completes all her work and does her best.”
     Fellow Student: She’s smart and she has A’s in EVERYTHING!
     Office Staff: “She was so tickled to hear that she was student of the week. She’s so humble and sweet and good and hard-wring. She’s a perfect student of the week.”

What’s this student’s favorite subject? 
I like math – it’s not hard for me. It’s easy! And music – I like to sing. And I like social studies because I like to learn about the world. I LOVE to go to recess and play on the swings with my friends.

What are this student’s hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school?
I like to play soccer and play with my dog. I love to jump on my trampoline at home. I really like school because I get to learn new things and I have had really good teachers!
