Congratulations to Sia Minetos, a 4th grader at Osuna Elementary School, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation.

About Sia:

Sia is a very dedicated student. She consistently goes above and beyond in her academic efforts. She is a responsible student and consistently tries her best. Sia makes sure that she grasps new academic material well. If she is uncomfortable with a concept, she may choose to stay in at recess until she feels that she has the idea mastered. She is a leader, enjoys working with others, and contributes positively to student work groups. She encourages others. She is our class student council representative and brings enthusiasm and energy to that role. Sia’s excitement for people, learning and life is evident in all that she does.

Favorite subject:

Sia’s favorite subject is math.

Hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school:

Sia plays league soccer and basketball. She will be taking gymnastics classes this summer. She enjoys writing poetry with her sisters. Her sister had a poetry fest at her middle school and Sia contributed her poetry to the event. Each summer Sia goes camping and fishing with her family.
