Student of the Week Abel Miranda

Senior at New Futures High School

Nusenda Credit Union, in partnership with the APS Education Foundation, highlights an APS student each week.

A little about Abel’s school experience: “The last few months of my high school career are approaching and it is hard to imagine that I will be walking out the doors of my school for the last time, but I will do so with my heart full of many accomplishments. I felt an urgency to graduate, but now it is here and I’m surprised. Now that I look back I wish I didn’t let my disfluencies daunt what I imagined as being my full potential. To leave high school and keep the memorable experiences and knowledge I know will prepare me to meet all my expectations in life.”

Favorite course: “It is hard to pick just one favorite course. Math and writing stand out for me as being my favorite courses along with a few notable others. Reading hasn’t always been my strong suit which I make-up for with my writing capabilities.”

Plans for the future: “My plans for the future are to ensure my son has a better life than my own.”
