Sprint Provides Free Wireless Devices, Service to Students

This is the second year APS high school students have received free tablets and high-speed internet through the 1Million Project.

The Sprint 1Million Project has awarded select APS high students with free tablets and high-speed access to the internet so that they may complete homework, communicate with teachers, or apply for jobs, scholarships or college. This is the second year Sprint has provided such a wonderful opportunity to APS.

More than 1,400 tablets were distributed to five APS schools on Dec. 7. Students from Early College Academy, Freedom High, Highland High, Rio Grande High, and Native American Community Academy Charter were among those receiving Sprint devices with 3GB of high speed 4G LTE data each month.

The 1Million Project is the largest corporate initiative in U.S. history to bridge the digital divide and help close the “Homework Gap” for students lacking home internet access. The APS Foundation is delighted to continue our partnership with Sprint to help students thrive in school and life.
