Rent a Tux for Prom, Help Teachers, Students

Suits Unlimited partners once again this prom season with the APS Education Foundation for Tuxes 4 Teachers.

The Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation and Join-A-School are teaming up once again this prom season with local family-owned business Suits Unlimited to help raise money for APS teachers and students through Tuxes 4 Teachers.

With every tuxedo rented at Suits Unlimited, 5406 Menaul Blvd. NE, Tuxes 4 Teachers contributes $10 toward the Seeds of Learning grant program helping teachers update and enhance curriculum and access much-needed materials and classroom activities. Teachers have often paid for such expenses out of their own pockets.

"Tuxes 4 Teachers has been a great example of how family-owned businesses can help students throughout APS,” said Foundation Executive Director Phill Casaus. “The Garcia family and the people at Suits Unlimited have been great partners.”

Tuxes for Teachers has raised more than $5,000 in the past two years, and the school which rents the most tuxes – last year it was Valley – receives money directly from the program.

“We encourage school staff, parents and students to take part and rent their prom tuxedo at Suits Unlimited so that the program is a great success again this year,” said Steven Garcia of Suits Unlimited, who is a graduate of Sandia High School.
