PLAY BALL! ABQ Isotopes Partner with Schools

Orbit visits an elementary school last spring to reinforce the importance of reading.

April 4, 2012

Professional baseball has partnered with APS for many years, from the early days of the ABQ Dukes to the newest minor league sensation, the ABQ Isotopes.  Mascot Orbit and players are available to come to a school to support and reinforce a variety of educational topics.

The Isotopes also work with other business partners to support literacy.   The Club Read with Dion's program allows students to earn prizes and incentives as they "run the bases" while marking scorecards as they read books.  Orbit's Kids Crew, presented by Lovelace Health System,  includes five reserved ticket vouchers, a logo t-shirt, one unlimited access to the Fun Zone and a member bag filled with prizes.   Players and Isotopes employees are also available to speak to classes about opportunities in professional sports like media relations, marketing & sales, sports administration, and grounds and landscape maintenance.  Contact Kim Stoebick, Community Relations Coordinator, at 505.222.4014 or KStoebick@ABQIsotopes.com.
