Officers Elected & New Members Join Foundation Board

Thanks to four directors who are terming off after six years of service.

Outgoing members Amy Tapia, Tony Dees, Adrian Chavez and Jeff Lunsford

The APS Education Foundation has elected officers and four new members to its board of directors for 2018.

Officers elected are Joseph Varro, Jr. – president & CEO at DSRM National Bank/Valero, president; Heather Johnson -  portfolio manager, senior vice president at New Mexico Bank & Trust, vice president; Joseph Trimble - Vice President/New Mexico and Western Border Small Business Leader at Wells Fargo Bank, secretary/treasurer.

New Directors elected are Chris Gonzales – human resources associate manager at Pepsico; Tammy Grady Thornton – co-owner of Raylee Homes: A New Generation; Alarie Ray-Garcia – owner of Impronta; and Katrina Wagner – volunteer coordinator, community involvement at Sandia National Laboratories.

The APS Education Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization established to promote private support of the district and its students. In partnership with Albuquerque Public Schools, the foundation promotes and garners financial and in-kind resources to provide students with the opportunity to succeed. We also mobilize resources and develop community partnerships to support excellence in APS.

Verizon Awards $25,000 for STEM Horizon Initiatives
