Hinkle Family Fun Center, a supporter of the APS Education Foundation, sent valentines to 30,000 Albuquerque Public Schools students, inviting them to visit the landmark family entertainment center and get a free ride on a go-kart or bumper boat or play a free round of miniature golf.

Hinkle also is hosting another APS Day on Friday, March 29,  with a portion of the proceeds going to the Foundation to support students and schools.

“Hinkle Family Fun Center is a great partner to the Foundation. Our students and families had a good time at the last APS Hinkle Family Fun Day, and there's lots of fun to be had on March 29th as well," said Foundation Executive Director Phill Casaus.

Hinkle Family Fun Center, located on the northwest corner of Indian School and Tramway, offers two 18-hole miniature golf courses, bumper boats, a go-kart track, lazer tag, arcade games, paintball and many other features that make it a premier destination for kids and families.

Part of the money the Foundation receives from APS Day will go toward supporting APS middle and high school student council programs, which help develop leadership skills. Gene Hinkle, a longtime Albuquerque businessman and the owner of Hinkle Family Fun Center, has long been a proponent of leadership programs in public education.

Hinkle also is a sponsor of this year's Selfless Seniors, who will be celebrated in a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. March 27 at Del Norte High School.
