Get Your Tickets Now for the Gold Bar Gala

The event supporting public education is Friday, April 27.

The signature event for the APS Education Foundation, the Gold Bar Gala, serves as the only event of its kind to host teachers, students, APS district leaders, business leaders and community members for one purpose – to support public education.

The gala is an awards banquet, celebrating the outstanding accomplishments of APS students, administrators and educators that have made an impact and continue to make an impact on student achievement. More than just acknowledging success, the gala is a way for the community to get involved, to understand that they can invest in APS schools and classrooms and make a real difference.

Tickets and SponsorshipsFrank Frost Photography once again brings Selfless Seniors as part of the gala, celebrating their 10th year of recognizing outstanding seniors in high school that work to make our community a better place. Two more former APS employees that dedicated their careers to making a difference in the lives of their students will be inducted into the Hall of Honor, and the 2018 Outstanding Corporate Partner will be recognized for their contribution to education this past year.

The evening will culminate with the announcement of the Best In Class winner. The three Best In Class nominees are schools that received Foundation grant awards and built an innovative and successful program that provides students more opportunities to succeed. Best In Class nominees are chosen by the APS Education Foundation Board of Directors’ Disbursement Committee after months of research and review. Nominees will be announced on April 13, 2018, and then the community has the chance to vote for a winner. The winner will receive $15,000 in Foundation funding to continue and grow their program.

The Gold Bar Gala is presented by Award Sponsors Comcast, Technology Integration Group (TIG) and RayLee Homes: A New Generation. Other lead sponsors include Sound and Signal Systems of New Mexico, Pepsi and Nusenda Credit Union.

“For over a decade, TIG has been a passionate supporter of APS teaching and learning initiatives through technology. This year we are honored to again be an Award Sponsor for the Gold Bar Gala, benefitting the APS Education Foundation. Along with honoring Selfless Seniors, Hall of Honor and Best In Class, TIG is proud to support the Foundation in its effort to support excellence on all levels across the district. We know that today’s students are tomorrow’s future! Thank you, APS, for giving us the opportunity to be of service in your mission to provide mindful and effective outcomes for the kids of Albuquerque. We love you!” writes Jim Lujan of TIG.

It’s not too late to join TIG and other event sponsors on April 27, 2018, at Sandia Resort & Casino as sponsorships are still available. Guests will enjoy an evening of inspiration, good company, fun…as well as APS Gold Bars. Sandia Resort & Casino will again craft the APS Gold Bar using the original recipe.
