Award-winning photographer Dan Caldemeyer’s gift is the ability to capture nature in its purest, rawest form. In many ways, it’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Caldemeyer has donated more than 100 original prints to the APS Education Foundation, which is putting them on sale Tuesday, Nov. 29 in what Executive Director Phill Casaus is calling a “Red Tuesday” sale. The event will be held from noon-5 p.m. in Room 101 at  the Alice and Bruce King Educational Complex (City Centre) from noon-5 p.m.

“Dan’s donation to the Foundation was totally unexpected and his work is just amazing,” Casaus said.

Caldemeyer’s prints, which come in a variety of sizes, may be seen at www.apseducationfoundation.org. Prices range from $30-$90. The remaining prints will go on sale online the week of December 4. For information, contact Casaus at 878-6165 or Casaus@aps.edu.

Some of Caldemeyer’s work will be donated to schools within the district in hopes of encouraging children to explore art, photography and nature. Caldemeyer has lived throughout the U.S. and travels to shoots in a motor home that allows him to get closer to his subjects. The work he’s donated to the Foundation includes shots from New Mexico and the Southwest, but also other regions throughout the world.

“Dan has lived in New Mexico and cares deeply about education,” said Casaus. “We’re very grateful for his selfless gift to the Foundation.”
