APS Superintendent’s Cup Golf Tourney Raises Funds for District Programs

June 20, 2012

The Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation is sponsoring the first-ever APS Superintendent’s Cup Golf Tournament Aug. 1 to raise funds for the foundation’s Horizon Campaign that supports students with literacy, fine arts, and science and technology programs, as well as extra-curricular activities at the middle and high school levels.

“This is going to be a fun tournament, something that will allow the APS community to get together, hit some balls and really get to know one another better,” said tournament committee member Phill Casaus of the APS Education Foundation.

Cost to play in the tournament at the University of New Mexico’s Championship Course is $85 per player or $340 a team. Players who don’t have a team are welcome to sign up – teams will be formed with APS employees, sponsors and members of the community.

Prizes and lunch will be provided. The tournament is a benefit for the APS Education Foundation, which has injected more than $300,000 into district classrooms in the past 18 months.
