Teachers Can Now Apply for Horizon Awards

The application deadline for the awards sponsored by the APS Education Foundation is Friday, March 7.

Individual teachers may apply for up to $1,500 and school teams may apply for up to $5,000 for projects supporting one of four focus areas:

  • Literacy
  • Fine Arts
  • Middle and High School Activities
  • STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).

Reviewers will be looking for proposals that impact student achievement and classroom learning in innovative ways.

Teachers who were awarded grants from the Fall 2013 program are ineligible for this cycle.

Since the fall of 2010, the APS Education Foundation’s Horizon Awards have poured more than $450,000 dollars back into the classrooms of the state’s largest district, touching students at every level.
