Apply for Grants and Inspire Learning

Looking for ways to fund your classroom projects? Want to start or expand a school-wide program? Apply for a Spring 2019 APS Education Foundation Grant!

The APS Education Foundation is now accepting applications for the Spring 2019 grant cycle to advance student achievement and develop lifelong learners. Applicants must be an APS elementary, middle or high school. Available APS Education Foundation Grant programs include the Horizon Awards, Achieve Awards and Success Awards.

Horizon Awards

The Horizon Award goes to STEM project-based learning activities, fine arts projects and literacy initiatives.

Selected APS schools will be awarded up to $1,500 to implement an individual project targeting a single classroom and up to $5,000 to implement a team project targeting multiple classrooms. Projects must be in the areas of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), Fine Arts and/or Literacy. APS elementary, middle and high school staff members, including teachers, educational assistants, librarians, counselors, and social workers are eligible to apply.

Achieve Awards

Student clubs, student-led organizations, after-school programs and student activities can apply for the Achieve Award.

Requests of up to $10,000 for APS school-sponsored clubs and student activities that directly add value to the traditional curriculum are accepted. Qualifying activities include, but are not limited to, marching bands, education-based field trips, and academic competitions. Please note that funding is limited and large grants will be rare. APS elementary, middle and high school staff members, including teachers, educational assistants, librarians, counselors, and social workers are eligible to apply.

Success Awards

School-wide programs and grade-level initiatives can apply for a Success Award.

Funding is intended to support innovative school-level or grade-level proposals that improve student performance and increase student growth. The APS Education Foundation will accept applications between $10,000 and $25,000. To be eligible, proposals must have a significant impact on a large number of students. Principals within an APS elementary, middle and high school or APS department-level directors may apply.

All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on February 15.

Awards will be announced in March 2019.
