3,700+ Students to Benefit from Achieve Award Grants

Highland band members take part in a clinic paid for by a fall Achieve Award.

Nineteen projects from throughout the district were selected for funding in the APS Education Foundation’s spring Achieve Award cycle.

The Achieve Award grants funds clubs and activities that engage students and offer a more well-rounded experience at schools throughout the district. In all, about 3,700 students from throughout the district will benefit from these projects.

“This spring’s cycle was our most competitive yet – we received 60 submissions for over $200,000 in funding,” said Foundation Executive Director Phill Casaus. “Many worthy projects that would support students were unable to receive funding.”

About $47,000 was awarded in the spring, on top of the $50,000 that was previously awarded in the fall cycle.
