Discovery to Host Special Screening of New Series for APS Teachers

Teachers who have been named STAR Discovery Educators have been invited to the exclusive viewing of the upcoming series "Africa,' which will air on the Discovery Channel.

Discovery Education will host a special screening of the Discovery Channel series "Africa" for APS teachers who have been named STAR Discovery Educators.

A Discovery Channel/BBC co-production four years in the making, "Africa" is a seven-part series that brings the continent to life with never-before-filmed species, animal behaviors and secret, natural wonders of the world. During the screening, teachers will get an exclusive look at an episode about the Kalahari Desert. They also will be recognized by APS for their leadership and commitment to transforming teaching and learning for students.

STAR Discovery Educators are active members of the Discovery Educator Network (DEN) and proven leaders in transforming teaching and learning. The DEN is a global community of more than 200,000 educators who are passionate about teaching with technology and digital media, sharing resources, collaborating and networking.

STAR Discovery Educators in APS consistently share innovative ways to incorporate technology and digital media into classrooms and model best practices for fellow teachers to ensure students are inspired, engaged and graduate college and career ready.
