Discovery for Teachers and Students

Teachers and students now have access to the Discovery Education website.

Email your questions about Discovery Education to DiscoveryEdHotline@aps.edu.

Teachers, students and instructional staff can now access online learning tools provided by Discovery Education by following the directions below.

APS Students, Teachers and Staff

1. Go to aps.discoveryeducation.com .

2. Enter your username and password.

For teachers and staff:

  • The username is the letter e followed by their six-number employee ID (e123456).
  • The password is their email password.

For students:

  • The username is their student ID number
  • The password is their APS assigned password.

3. Click login.

Students, teachers and other instructional staff at schools automatically get Discovery Education user accounts. If you have trouble logging in, an APS representative should contact the APS Service Desk at 830-8080.

Non-school departments needing Discovery accounts should submit a staff list (names and employee IDs) to the APS Service Desk at 830-8080 or through their website at servicedesk.aps.edu. Accounts will be created within a few business days. Users will receive an email message from the Discovery system when their accounts are created and ready to use.

Other Users (non-APS employees, contractors, etc.)

1. Go to www.discoveryeducation.com.

2. Enter the username and password assigned to you for Discovery Education.

3. Click login.

Logging into Discovery will provide access to a variety of services including:

Streaming Plus: Comprehensive K-12 cross-curricular digital teaching resource with more than 160,000 standards-based learning objects.

World Language (Accessed through Streaming Plus): Access to nearly 1,000 world language videos including Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Cantonese, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese.

Health: A comprehensive digital health and prevention multimedia library covering physical activity, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, violence, safety, nutrition, tobacco, the body, and growth and development.

Media Share: Web content sharing system that allows teachers to share resources through uploading, managing, and distributing user-created and/or licensed digital content.

Techbook: A comprehensive, inquiry-based digital program that replaces traditional textbooks and supports Common Core State Standards. Available for K-8 science, high school science, and 6th and 8th grade social studies (U.S. and world history). Techbooks includes in-depth lesson plans, leveled text and multimedia resources to support students and teachers alike.

Professional Development: The implementation of these products will be supported by Discovery Education's professional development team. Administrators, teachers, instructional coaches, and district teams will learn how to integrate digital content and technology into classrooms, curricula and administrative practices through a combination of in-person training, online support, classroom application, and job-embedded coaching.

Every school will receive at least two days of professional development, one for digital content and one for the science techbook. Other training and support will be delivered to principals, assistant principals, instructional coaches and resource teachers.
