Albuquerque Public Schools is committed to helping students achieve academically, and that happens when they are comfortable and secure; when they have access to contemporary resources and tools; when they feel welcome and at home.

Albuquerque taxpayers get this. Year after year, they agree to dedicate a small portion of their income to erecting new schools in growing neighborhoods and updating aging classrooms in more mature parts of town.

Thanks to a community that has overwhelming voted in support of school improvements,  APS  has been able to dedicate millions of dollars to building

Calendar 3

  • inviting new schools
  • well-lit and spacious classrooms
  • nurturing kindergarten wings
  • state-of-the-art science labs
  • safe and fun playgrounds
  • art and music rooms
  • performing arts centers

  • modernized cafeterias and kitchens
  • accommodating spaces for students with special needs.

The list goes on and on.

APS also has used taxpayer-approved dollars to fund technology, the tools of a new generation that prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow.

In addition, taxpayers have helped us keep our students and staff safe and comfortable by providing funding to create secure, supportive learning environments.

On Feb. 2, 2016, the Albuquerque community voted in a school improvement election that allowed APS to continue building, renovating, updating, improving.
