Videos
The Communications/Web Team helps communicate complicated information using videos.
We record, produce, and post informational videos that cover topics throughout the district, like student-led conferences, summer school, and interactive whiteboards.
We also work with APS teachers to feature student-produced videos from time to time.
Some of the videos that have been featured on the APS homepage are listed below. Our entire video library is available in our video library at vimeo.com.

Whiteboards: Engaging Students in Learning
It has been exciting to see the overwhelming response from our teachers eager to train on the white boards. In classrooms where white boards already exist, the enthusiasm is contagious among the students. Our greatest hope is that through the use of this technology we will continue to engage our students so they will perform better and enjoy the lessons along the way. APS Student-led Conferences
Albuquerque Public Schools is trying something new, a process which has been found to be a best practice when it comes to parent-teacher conferences: Student-led conferences. The student is responsible for leading this conference and presenting their progress to their parent(s) (or significant adult) and advisor. Students lead a discussion of their academic accomplishments, future goals, and their interests and dreams. Students will use work they’ve collected in their portfolios to structure their presentations.
2010 Selfless Seniors
The seniors were honored March 30 at Volcano Vista High School. Each was introduced by their school principal, and all had moving things to say about their schools, their communities and their dreams of the future. This is the third year the APS Education Foundation has worked in partnership with acclaimed Albuquerque photographer Frank Frost to celebrate the accomplishments of seniors who are serious about their futures, yet find ways to put others before themselves. Students who qualify as Selfless Seniors are those who give back to their community, who haven’t been recognized by their high school, who have made a positive impact on others facing difficulties and whose character sets them apart.
