FINANCIAL FOUNDATIONS: A FINANCIAL LITERACY TRAINING FOR NEW MEXICO TEACHERS
Wednesday, June 7, 2017 8:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m.

Participate in a free Personal Financial Literacy program on June 7, 2017 sponsored by Fidelity Investments and the Council for Economic Education. This professional development workshop will focus on teachers as adult learners to better prepare them to teach financial literacy to students in grades K-12 and will cover key concepts, strategies, and resources.

* Teachers will learn ways to incorporate saving, investing, spending and planning concepts into math, science, social studies, language arts, business, economics, language arts, and life skills classes and will leave the session confident they can capture students’ attention, and enhance understanding, retention and application.

* A limited number of partial scholarships are available to help reimburse educators for some travel costs to attend. Participants traveling more than 200 miles are eligible to apply. Group travel and car pooling are encouraged.

* To apply for the travel scholarship, email your name, school, contact information, number traveling, the amount requested, and a short explanation of how the funds will be used to caroleglade@gmail.com no later than May 30. Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come basis.
